How do I add bookings to Travalet?

The easiest way is to forward your booking confirmation emails to trips@travalet.app from any email client. Within a few seconds, the booking will appear in the app.

You can also add bookings manually by tapping the + button in the app.

Which booking providers are supported?

Travalet’s email parser understands confirmations from hundreds of airlines, hotel chains, car hire companies, and booking platforms. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Airlines: Qantas, Virgin Australia, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, United, Delta, American, Air New Zealand, Jetstar, and many more.
  • Hotels: Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Airbnb, direct hotel confirmations.
  • Car hire: Hertz, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Enterprise.
  • Trains & transport: Eurostar, Amtrak, Trainline.
  • Activities: Viator, GetYourGuide, direct operator confirmations.

If your provider isn’t parsed correctly, please contact us with a redacted copy of the email.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no Travalet account. The app identifies your device using a private identifier you generate within the app. No name, no email address, no sign-up.


Privacy & data

Where is my itinerary stored?

Your itinerary is stored on your device in the app’s private database. It syncs to your other Apple devices via your iCloud account — not Travalet’s servers.

Does Travalet read my emails?

Travalet only processes emails you explicitly forward to trips@travalet.app. The app never connects to your email inbox. We do not ask for email access permissions.

What happens to the email I forward?

  1. Our relay receives the email.
  2. The booking details are extracted using an AI model (Anthropic Claude).
  3. The structured itinerary data is delivered to your device via a push notification.
  4. The email content is deleted from our systems.

We retain the parsed booking data for up to 30 days in case delivery needs to be retried, then it is permanently deleted.

Does Anthropic keep my data?

Anthropic may retain submitted email content for up to 30 days for trust and safety purposes. After that it is deleted. Anthropic does not use submitted data to train their models. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.

Is my iCloud data private?

Yes. iCloud sync happens directly between your devices using Apple’s encrypted infrastructure. Travalet does not have access to data stored in your iCloud account.


Trips & sharing

How does Travalet group bookings into trips?

Travalet automatically groups bookings whose dates overlap into a trip. For example, a flight on 10 June and a hotel from 10–14 June will be grouped together. You can also adjust trip date ranges manually.

Can I share my itinerary with travel companions?

Yes. Travalet supports iCloud trip sharing. Tap the share button on any trip to invite others via their Apple ID. They don’t need a Travalet account — just an iPhone with the app installed.

My travel companion changed something — will I see it?

Yes. Shared trips stay in sync in real time via iCloud.


Troubleshooting

A booking email wasn’t parsed — what should I do?

Check that:

  1. You forwarded it to trips@travalet.app (not another address).
  2. The original email is in English (other languages are in beta).
  3. The email contains a booking confirmation (not a marketing email or receipt without booking details).

If the issue persists, contact us with a redacted copy of the email (remove any personal data you’re not comfortable sharing).

The app isn’t receiving bookings

  1. Open the app’s Settings screen and check that your device is registered (you’ll see a device identifier).
  2. Check that push notifications are enabled for Travalet in your iPhone’s Settings > Notifications.
  3. Try tapping Re-register device in the app’s Settings screen.

I deleted the app — is my data gone?

Data stored in iCloud will persist if you have iCloud backup enabled. Local device data is deleted when you remove the app. Re-installing the app and signing in with the same Apple ID will restore iCloud-synced trips.
